The vision for this 29 300 sqm 5 star luxury hotel for African Pride was to create striking, iconic and contemporary architecture.

This hotel comprises 108 key, 12 penthouse apartments and a wellness centre. It became a new urban marker which responds sympathetically to the surrounding environment.

Whilst retaining key elements of the existing historic building, it is transformed by the imposition of a vast, light-fi lled atrium and the addition of uncompromisingly contemporary architectural elements. It creates a new and transparent hub and breathes fresh life into this key junction of the city. The hotel embodies the spirit of re-invention currently happening in Cape Town.
