Melrose Arch Piazza

The Melrose Arch Piazza precinct integrates seamlessly into the existing Melrose Arch development. A new public space was created to form a piazza and connect to an additional pedestrian route. This created a natural and permeable link between the existing Melrose Square and the rest of the development.

The Melrose Arch Piazza comprises mixed-use retail, offices, leisure, and residential components. The pedestrian route is lined with high street retail that connects to the new piazza. The design of the retail focuses on creating a space that is partially open air and allows in plenty of natural light using ample glazing and creates a permeable mall. The various high street shopping routes intersect at the new permeable Galleria, which forms a convenient pedestrian route lined with retail that leads back towards the Piazza. It is partially roofed with a glass canopy to protect from the rain but allow for the natural flow of air.
