The dhk Architects design, using the original concept massing approval by Fabian Architects, has been further developed for Vantage Property.

The building’s distinctive façades on Buitengracht, Longmarket, Shortmarket and Rose Streets each have a unique character that responds to its facing context. On Buitengracht the building soars, reflecting the tall buildings that shape the high-rise skyline opposite, while on Rose, the stepped façade echoes the surrounding urban fabric of terraced houses. The building also features a new publicly accessible courtyard on Shortmarket Street which connects through the site to Longmarket Street. New retail stores and restaurants line this new space, offering moments of connection, a chance to linger, and a place for visitors and residents to meet and greet.

The ground floor frontages are activated with retail units and restaurants, creating a human-scale sense of place for passers-by. As the terraces sweep upwards, the mix of 233 apartments ranges from studio units, and one-, two-, and three-bedroom configurations, and large penthouse units. Secure parking, swimming pool, coworking spaces and rooftop residents’ lounge offers residents a chance to live, work and play in inner-city Cape Town style.

The Paradigm is another great collaboration between dhk Architects and dhk Interior Design which created a compelling vision for the interiors. The team has curated a range of interior designs for the residential units, including the penthouses, created to complement the sophisticated atmosphere of this inner-city refuge. Unlike the bustling city outside and the building’s complex geometric architecture, the interior design introduces a neutral palette and light spaces in a calm, elegant combination.
